The Langtang Gosaikunda Trek has it all! Follow the enchanted trail through terraced hills and alluring villages to the alpine meadows of Kyanjin Gompa (3870 meters). Just when you thought the trail couldn’t get any better, ascend to the magical Gosaikunda Lake, nestled among the rugged Himalayas. The spellbinding scenery around here is unreal. Snow and rugged terrain creeps up the shore of
the crystal-clear sacred waters of Gosaikunda Lake. Hike up the wonderful Langtang Valley trail passing through, and stopping in, village after village.  Get to know the local Tamang people, who are most welcoming and offer awesome hospitality. Sharing meals and drinks with those who live along the trail is priceless. Enter the Langtang Valley, which is surrounded by a magnificent wall of rocky mountains. Soon, arrive to Kyanjin Gompa, a tiny village at the foot of some astonishing mountains. The landscape is beautifully barren, with boulders, shrubs, and dirt making up the scene. Try the local cheese from the cheese factory after a tough ascent to Tserko Ri (4985 meters), the best viewpoint of the trek. Still, the major highlight of the trek has yet to come. Gosaikunda Lake stands at a mighty 4400 meters above sea level. It is a rarity to see a lake this high up in the mountains. It is considered sacred by both Hindus and Buddhists and in fact, hundreds of Hindu devotees visit the lake each year Janai Purnima (during the full moon of August). During this time, Hindu pilgrims change the sacred thread wrapped around their bodies and take a dip into Gosaikunda Lake. If you come during the festival, you will not forget it! The spiritual energy is powerful. Trek back down to Dhunche, where we await our ride back to Kathmandu. The way down is just as exciting as the ascent. Fill your lungs with the pure forest air and admire the photogenic terraced fields. What a journey the Langtang Gosaikunda Trek is! We heartily welcome to join us any time of the year. Part of the beauty of trekking in the Langtang region that you are benefitting the local community. The Langtang area was one of the hardest hit places during the April 2015 earthquake. Entire villages were flattened and landslides destroyed much of the trails. Since then, the area has been slow to recover. With the help of trekkers, the area’s main source of income is supported. By hiking in and around the Langtang Valley, you are trekking with a cause! You can have the adventure of a lifetime while supporting the locals’ livelihood. Join the Langtang Gosaikunda Trek anytime during the year. For the best weather, though, spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) are the preferred seasons. In general, the skies are clearer and the landscape is more beautiful. Crystal Himalaya Treks & Expedition Pvt. Ltd. manages the package with complete care.
