The epic adventure begins in the foothills of the Langtang region and follows high into the alpine meadows of KyanjinGompa (3900m). The trail makes its way through a vast array of landscapes, even the famous Gosaikunda Lake (4440m) a beloved pilgrimage site. The Langtang
- Summit TserkoRi (4985 meters) and Ama Yang Ri Peak (3771 meters) for unique, unbelievable perspective of the Himalayas and the valleys beneath them
- Get to know the Tamang and Yolmo ethnic groups – the people are half the fascination of trekking in the Himalayas
- Stand beside the sacred Gosaikunda Lake (4440 meters)
- Try the homemade cheese in KyanjinGompa (3900 meters) with a scenic Himalayan backdrop
- The epic journey passes through lots of different landscapes
Helambu Trek gets even more exciting, though, as you climb to the nearly unknown Ama Yang Ri Peak (3771m). Come join us for this wild ride into the Langtang and Helambu trekking areas!
Most visitors to Nepal have heard about though Langtang region, the third most popular trekking destination behind Annapurna and Everest. Still, it is greatly underappreciated. Because less people trek here, you can have more valuable interactions with the locals. Even lesser known is the Helambu area, characterized by rolling terraced hills, expansive alpine meadows, mountain vistas, and lovely people. Our Langtang Helambu Trek connects the two unique areas in one package for a full Himalayan experience.
Begin in the mostly Tamang town of Syabrubesi and start on the adventure of a lifetime. Hike up through the forest-covered hills to the open Langtang Valley. Further up is KyanjinGompa – a prime teahouse village with top notch mountain views. If you have the energy, we recommend a visit to TserkoRi (4985m), which offers one of the best panoramic views in the Langtang area. Hike back to Lama Hotel to begin the next leg of the journey: Gosaikunda Lake.
Gosaikunda Lake is a sacred place, deemed so by both Hindus and Buddhists. The crystal clear, high-altitude body of water looms above most of the Langtang region. It is cradled on all sides by steep mountain walls and rocky inclines. You may never see another lake like this. After a mind-blowing day of exploring the surroundings, head into the Helambu area.
The last portion of the trail explores the charming and mystical Helambu area, where you summit the Ama Yang Ri peak (3771m). Besides the climb, our Helambu trail is a low-altitude one that shows the quintessential hilly landscape and villages of Nepal. The people who live in the area belong to the Yolmo ethnic group. Like the Tamang, they emigrated from the Tibetan in the 15th century, making their home in the foothills of the Himalayas. They speak a different language and have a different alphabet than most Nepalese.
The Langtang Helambu Trek is an unforgettable adventure! Fall in love with the people and places you meet along your journey. They will give you lasting memories.
The trail is not too difficult and can be joined by anyone with moderate fitness level. You do not need previous trekking experience to join us, you simply have to have strong determination to finish the trek. Take the Langtang Helambu Trek anytime during the year. For the best weather, though, spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) are the preferred seasons. In general, the skies are clearer and the landscape is more beautiful. Crystal Himalaya Treks & Expedition Pvt. Ltd. manages the package with complete care. If there are any questions or concerns, please contact us.
