After the Everest Base Camp Trek and the Annapurna Circuit Trek, the Langtang Valley Trek is the most popular. Still though, it is vastly underrated. Within a week of arriving at the trailhead, the trail exhibits some of the best views you will ever see, while you spend time with local Tamang people and other ethnic groups. Even though it is the most accessible trekking regions of the popular t
hree, it is mysteriously the least visited. It is not as commonly talked about or photographed as Everest or Annapurna but its people and landscape are just as beautiful. The trail is suitable for first-timers and seasons vets alike, and the maximum altitude is 3870 meters at Kyanjin Gompa. If you want an extra adventure, there is an optional day hike planned up to Tserko Ri at 4980 meters for an unbelievable panorama. Hit the road after exploring Kathmandu and look out at the passing villages and their paddy fields. The adventure has begun the moment we leave Kathmandu, but the trekking journey starts in the large hillside town of Syabrubesi. Trudge up through the ever-changing forests. At the start, the air is wet and humid, perfect for sub-tropical forests. As we hike higher, maple and oak trees make up our surroundings and even higher, pine and brilliant rhododendrons keep us company. The Langtang region boasts an impressive amount of biodiversity. You might find the iconic rare Red Panda lurking behind the trees or the Himalayan tahr, or even the Himalayan Black Bear. Emerge into the glacial Langtang Valley and even higher to Kyanjin Gompa (3870 meters) for the most spectacular views of the trek. Enveloped by mountains, you will remember this place for your lifetime. Then, if you are up for it, hike up to Tserko Ri (4980 meters), for a mind-boggling view of the expansive Himalayas. The rugged landscape is something out the movies. It is a sight you have to see to believe! Descend back to Syabrubesi along the same trail, and be no less awe-struck than the way up. The Langtang Valley Trek is a true delight. If you are short on time, but still want to see the highest mountain range in the world, the Langtang Valley Trek is the best option. The trail was damaged badly from the April 2015 earthquake. Villages were flattened and landslides wiped out portions of the trial. Over the years, the area has been recovering and has since been reopened to trekkers. Now more than ever, the villages rely on trekking and tourism to lift its spirits. In visiting the Langtang Valley, you will not only be giving yourself the adventure of a lifetime, but you will also be helping locals in supporting their livelihood. Join the Langtang Valley Trek anytime during the year. For the best weather, though, spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) are the preferred seasons. In general, the skies are clearer and the landscape is more beautiful. Crystal Himalaya Treks & Expedition Pvt. Ltd. manages the package with complete care.
